Nespresso Inissia Review – Entry level Nespresso Machine

Nespresso Inissia ReviewNespresso Inissia Review

From the Pioneers of Pod Coffee Machines

Nespresso systems are the inventors of the pod coffee machines. There are a wide range of Nespresso coffee pods today for the different types of intensity of black coffees that they have on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the strongest. They also have what they call pure origin pods, which are from one country, flavoured pods and decaffeinated pods. The Nespresso range of coffee pods provides an authentic coffee flavour, one of the reasons their machines do very well.

Nespresso Inissia Review Findings

The Nespresso Inissia is the entry level model of the Nespresso range of machines. This is the lightest and most compact of their pod coffee machine range. There are only two options, espresso or lungo (long black coffee).  This makes it very easy to use and operate but still comes with the 19 bar pressure of all the Nespresso patented systems. Nespresso has a tie up with Krups and Magimix who manufacture the machines for them and they each make different colours of the Inissia. Whether you get a Krups or Magimix machine will depend on the colour that you choose.

We noticed some differences in quality between Krups, which does better than the Magimix, but we aren’t sure if this was just coincidence.

You will need a milk frother if you would like cappuccinos or lattes. The Aeroccino comes bundled with the Inissia but we’ve found that the non stick surface of the Aeroccino wears out quickly and it can be a faff to clean unless you have a milk frother cleaning liquid. So it’s worth looking at other milk frothers on the market.

There are Nespresso compatible pods available today that you can use safely. But we recommend you do your reviews and check these pods before inserting into your machine. It can invalidate the warranty if a third-party pod causes damage. There are plenty of coffee pods from the Nespresso range itself that should satisfy different palates.
